Monty West Company Presents Dragonwood Farm
Dragonwood Farm is a place rich in history, one of the oldest existing homes in Dekalb County, and today the remaining 15 acres of an original Revolutionary War grant that encompassed an entire valley along the Caney Fork River, just under the Cumberland plateau is a vibrant working farm. The farm is less than a mile from Center Hill Lake. It is convenient to the I 40 interstate exit but is far enough away and on a little country road so it seems that you are in another time. The house sits well back from the road. The views from the house are all beautiful Middle Tennessee country. It is an hour from Nashville.
Most of the 3164 square foot home has been lovingly restored with modern comforts in mind.
The dining room has poplar floors, custom crafted, raised paneled wainscoting and a window seat flanked with cabinets for extra storage.
There is a half bath off the dining room. The detail in the arched doorways is incredible.
The kitchen was brought into the 20th Century at the end of it, 1993. The cabinets are custom with architectural references to the gingerbread trim on the outside of the house. The floor is tile as are the counter tops. The built-in Corning cook top range and the dishwasher were installed in 1999.
To the left of the stove area is the walk in pantry and to the right is the laundry.
